The recurring brief

Copy this prompt and schedule it

Paste it into your runtime’s scheduled-task editor at the cadence above. The output arrives in your inbox (or Slack, or your drive) on schedule from then on. See Schedule a skill for the runtime mechanics.

Prompt body

Scan the past 7 days of public news for each of Crown's top 25 named accounts (maintain the account list in key-accounts.docx attached). Sources: Google News for each company name, LinkedIn company pages, the company's own newsroom if public, and any industry-specific trade publication relevant to that account's vertical (Food Processing, Food Engineering, Modern Distribution Management, DC Velocity, Material Handling & Logistics).

For each account with material news, report:

  • Account name and Crown branch ownership (Memphis, Boise, Chicago)
  • Date and source
  • One-sentence summary
  • One-sentence 'why this matters for the Crown rep on this account' — e.g., expansion = capacity opportunity, sustainability commitment = PCR/recyclable substrate opening, leadership change = relationship reset.

Group the brief by branch so each branch sales lead can scan their accounts in seconds. If an account has no news in the period, omit — no padding. Output as a Word doc, key-account-watch-{YYYY-WW}.docx.

Example output

Key Account Watch — Week of April 14, 2026

Chicago branch (4 accounts with movement)

  • Account A (April 12, Food Engineering): announced new DC opening in Joliet by Q4. So what: capacity opportunity — brief Chicago rep on Crown stretch wrap stocking depth.
  • Account B (April 10, LinkedIn): hired new VP Supply Chain from Sealed Air. So what: relationship reset; competitive risk if Sealed Air gets warm intro.

Memphis branch (2 accounts)

  • Account C (April 13, sustainability press release): committed to 30% PCR in all primary packaging by 2028. So what: PCR substrate conversation — Crown lab can validate.

Boise branch — no material moves this week.

So what for the Product Specialist: three customer-call openers handed to branch leads before Wednesday's pipeline review.
